THE Carrum Bowling Club has received a $9000 grants from the state government.

The funding will go towards sending women at the club to coaching and umpiring courses.

Carrum MP Sonya Kilkenny said that the grant would help get women into leadership positions at the club.

“I’m so proud to see more funding for Carrum Bowling Club to get more women involved in such a great sport. Congratulations to the Carrum Bowling Club on receiving this funding and for taking such an active role in promoting greater gender equality at the club,” she said.

“I encourage more women to take up bowls and enjoy the benefits that come from participating in local sport and active recreation.”
