A PLAN for the future of the Kananook Reserve area is being formed.
Frankston Council says a plan is necessary to protect the space given the current works on the nearby Frankston Basketball Stadium and Kananook Station commuter car park. It has invited submissions from the public on the space to help it put together a master plan.
Frankston mayor Nathan Conroy said council is working with sporting clubs and community groups to put together the plan. “Kananook Reserve is one of our destination reserves as identified in the open space strategy and occupies a central location in this part of Seaford with a variety of uses and users. We have sporting clubs, workers on their lunch breaks, commuters walking through to the station, dog owners, a community garden as well as families who use the playground,” he said. “We know Kananook Reserve is important to the community so we want to understand how you use it now and your vision for its future.”
