A SWORD was among the items seized by police from a Frankston property earlier this month.
On 1 September police raided a commercial address on Station Street in Frankston. There they allegedly seized 23 imitation firearms, 33 knives, 15 machetes, 14 foldable knives, a hatchet, and a sword.
Police have arrested a 46-year-old Frankston man. They say he will be charged on summons with selling a controlled weapon to a child, sell or advertise prohibited weapons, and sell or advertise for sale imitation firearms.
Frankston acting inspector Ian Pregnell said “any form of weapon, be it knives or imitation firearms have the potential to cause significant alarm in the community. When used in serious and violent crime, they can tear families apart, terrify victims and threaten the wellbeing of society.”
“The Frankston community can rest assured that we will continue to thoroughly investigate any reports of weapons being sighted, sold, or advertised and do everything in our power to ensure such weapons never make it to the streets,” he said.
