THE search to find Kingston’s woman of the year has begun.
Nominations for the annual Kingston woman of the year awards are now open. Women can be nominated in four different categories – courageous commitment, excelling in arts and sport, inspiring innovation, and success in STEM.
Kingston mayor Steve Staikos has encouraged residents to put forward the names of women who have achieved outstanding things. “These will be our fifth Kingston women of the year awards and each year we are blown away with the quality of the nominees,” he said. “In each case they are women who contribute significantly to the day-to-day lives of our community members, through their dedication and devotion to what they do.”
Nominations close on 31 October. The winners of the will be announced at an International Women’s Day event on 10 March next year.
