A CHELSEA Heights tennis player has been named a finalist for the Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards.

Mischa Ginns is in the running for the sportsperson of the year award in the community category. Ginns plays blind tennis at a state level and has established a local program to get other people involved as well.

The awards ceremony will take place on 8 November. Disability Sport and Recreation programs and events manager Marshall James said, “we received an overwhelming number of quality nominations this year, making it very difficult for our judges to select finalists across each category.”

“DSR looks forward to coming together in celebration of our worthy finalists and their significant achievements throughout the year,” James said.
