Frankston police have charged a man after he allegedly made more than 200 calls to Triple Zero (000) over seven days in October.

The 73-year-old man has been charged with multiple counts of using a telecommunications service to harass and improper use of an emergency service.

The charges follow an investigation into 248 nuisance calls made to Triple Zero (000) between 12-19 October.

The man was arrested on Wednesday 19 October after officers attended an address on Skye Road to investigate the circumstances surrounding the calls about 5.30pm.

It was the second time police attended the property after attending earlier in the day to provide a warning.

The Frankston man was charged, bailed and released from custody before officers were notified further calls had been made.

When police re-attended the man’s property, he allegedly attempted to call Triple Zero (000) again and was arrested.

He was remanded to appear before Frankston Magistrates’ Court where he has appeared and been bailed to 30 January 2023.
