A DRIVER sleeping while in the middle of an intersection is expected to be hit with charges.
Police received a report of an erratic driver on Thompsons Road in Carrum Downs during the early hours of 9 January. Somerville Highway Patrol members soon came across a parked car with its engine running in the middle of the Frankston-Dandenong Road/Thompson Road intersection.
Police allege that the man drove off as they attempted to wake him. They pulled him over down the road, where he allegedly told police he was sleeping.
Police allege the man returned a positive drug test roadside. He also allegedly had a suspended licence and did not have an alcohol interlock which was a stipulation of his licence.
The man’s car was impounded for a month.
