POLICE conducted a raid in Carrum Downs last week as part of an investigation into outlaw bikie gangs.
The raids followed an alleged assault in Sale last month. On 9 September police raided homes in Safety Beach, Carrum Downs, Doncaster East, Lynbrook, Ringwood, Selby, Metung, and Sale, and a clubhouse in Cranbourne West. Police arrested nine people, including a 34-year-old Safety Beach man and a 35-year-old Carrum Downs man, who they allege are connected to the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
The Safety Beach man, Carrum Downs man, and a Lynbrook man were each charged with intentionally cause injury and affray. A Doncaster East man was charged with affray, public display of prohibited insignia, possess imitation firearms, possess prohibited weapons and possess steroids. A Sale man has been charged with affray. They were each bailed to face Sale Magistrates’ Court on 9 February, 2027.
A Victoria Police statement read that four men were released “pending further enquiries”.
“Police seized a range of items from the addresses during the warrants, including two gel blaster assault rifles, two gel blaster handguns, prohibited weapons and steroids found at the Doncaster East property,” Victoria Police said. “The arrests form part of an investigation into an incident at a licensed premises on York Street, Sale on 15 August.
“Police will allege that the group of men approached five males about 5.15pm and began harassing them. This led to an affray where several people were injured, with one of the victims sustaining a fractured jaw. The investigation remains ongoing.”
