A FLEET of sailboats is gearing up to set sail for the annual Long Beach Regatta Trophy competition. Chelsea Yacht Club will host the 2024 edition of the race on 6 April. The six clubs set to compete are the Beaumaris Yacht Club, Parkdale Yacht Club, Mordialloc Sailing Club, Chelsea Yacht Club, Carrum Sailing and Motor Boat Club, and Frankston Yacht Club.

The Long Beach Regatta is named after the 23 kilometer stretch of beach between Beaumaris and Frankston. A total of 60 boats are expected to compete on the day. Chelsea Yacht Club commodore Paul O’Conner said the Long Beach Regatta “is a great opportunity to showcase sailing, bringing all the Long Beach sailing and yacht clubs together.”

“With racing commencing at 1pm, there will be plenty of opportunity to watch the action either from the beach at Chelsea Yacht Club or from comfort of the upper level club viewing deck. Visitors are encouraged to get there before 1pm, see the boats on the beach and enjoy food and beverages available at the club,” he said.

To enquire about Chelsea Yacht Club memberships contact the club manager on 0493 187 792 or manager@chelseayachtclub.com.au
