MOORABBIN Airport is the busiest airport for flight training in Australia, a new study has revealed. Airservices Australia research has found that Moorabbin Airport was Australia’s busiest flight training airport in the 18 months to December 2023.
The Moorabbin Airport Corporation says it plans to add new training sites to accommodate over 1,800 students per year and an extra 100 aircraft. MAC CEO Paul Ferguson said “our continued investment in aviation, as outlined in our latest master plan, supports safe and industry-leading general aviation activity. Guided by our safety framework, our focus strongly remains on growing safe and viable aviation activities and investing in quality aviation infrastructure and training facilities.”

Our ongoing investment to improve and expand our airport facilities – including classrooms, lecture theatres, offices and hangars – ensures we can continue as leaders in flight training in Australia.”
