THE Better Health Network in Parkdale has received a $2.6 million upgrade. The Parkdale site hosts specialist medical services, dental and allied health, nursing and counselling services, aged care support, and disability services. The new facilities at the not-for-profit are now open.
The money was used to build new multi-use rooms for primary care therapies and treatment, a new reception area, telehealth-enabled consult and treatment rooms, and a self-service kitchen. An outdoor space for garden therapy and sensory programs has also been refurbished.
The project was undertaken by the state government, which allocated taxpayer money towards it through its “Metropolitan Health Infrastructure Fund”. Health infrastructure minister Mary-Anne Thomas said “this upgraded facility will support the hardworking staff at Better Health Network to continue providing high quality care closer to home, while also improving the health and wellbeing of the local clients.”
Mordialloc MP Tim Richardson said “a new and improved facility will ensure more locals can access the care and support they need, while also providing staff with a modern and efficient working environment.”
