NOMINATIONS to stand for Frankston Council at this year’s local government elections open on 9 September.
The Victorian Electoral Commission will accept nominations between 9 September and noon on 17 September. To nominate, potential candidates must make an appointment to submit their form and pay a $250 fee.

VEC electoral commissioner Sven Bluemmel said potential nominees must make sure they go through the proper process to be eligible. “If you want to represent your local community, make sure to confirm your eligibility and complete the mandatory online candidate training through Local Government Victoria before lodging your nomination. This rule applies to all candidates, including those who are currently or have previously been a councillor,” Bluemmel said.

To make an appointment to submit a nomination form in person call the VEC candidate helpline at 8620 1316 between Tuesday 20 August and Monday 9 September. For more information visit vec.vic.gov.au
