MORDIALLOC life saver Jemma Holt was part of the winning side at the 2024 Lifesaving World Championships National Teams event.

Holt is part of Australia’s Youth Simulated Emergency Response Competition team. At the World Championships earlier this month, the Australian team defended their title and won the gold medal.

After winning, Holt said “there’s no better feeling than to get the gold medal in the first event of the championships and to do our country proud on our home soil, it’s just something that I think we’re all ecstatic to have achieved.” “This was our first time coming together because I’m from Victoria, two of the boys were from Queensland and one of them was from NSW so we did one training session together on Monday but other than that, that was our first time doing it together and we just gelled really well,” she said. “Everyone did their jobs tremendously.”

There were 44 nations competing at the event on the Gold Coast.
