CONSULTATION is underway on an upgrade to the Thompson Road and Mornington Peninsula Freeway interchange in Patterson Lakes.
The western side of the road is set to be redeveloped as part of the state and federal government’s joint $1.2 billion “Road Blitz”.
Consultation on potential changes are now open, and will be accepted until 30 November. A project design will then be developed, followed by detailed traffic analysis and on-site investigations. Planning work is expected to finish next year.
Dunkley MP Jodie Belyea said “the community have made it clear they want to be consulted on the project which will cut bottlenecks and make daily trips smoother for residents and local businesses. It is my role as the federal member to be a strong local voice so residents feel heard as we deliver this project for Dunkley. I look forward to hearing their ideas.”
Carrum MP Sonya Kilkenny echoed the desire for improvements. “Locals know this intersection well, and their feedback will be key to shaping an upgrade that works for everyone,” she said.
