A MENTONE man has been charged with murder after an alleged stabbing in Melbourne’s CBD.
A 19-year-old Mentone man was allegedly found with multiple stab wounds on King Street in the early hours of 11 January. The man died at the scene.
Later that morning, police arrested another 19-year-old man from Mentone on Aurora Lane. He was charged with one count of murder and remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 12 January.
In a statement, Victoria Police said “it is alleged the parties are known to one another.” They allege that the two men were involved in an “altercation” at a King Street licensed premises at around 2.40am.
