SPORTS facilities in Carrum Downs and Carrum will receive upgrades after being awarded state government grants.
The cricket nets at Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve are set to be redeveloped with a $50,000 grant from the state government’s “Local Sports Infrastructure Fund”. The cricket facilities at Roy Dore Reserve in Carrum will also be redeveloped, with $200,000 allocated to works.
Carrum MP Sonya Kilkenny said “these upgrades at Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve and Roy Dore Reserve will give local clubs the safe, modern facilities they need to grow and thrive.”
“It’s fantastic to see investment in projects that support participation across cricket, netball and other community sports – especially for young people and women and girls in our community,” she said.
A new pavilion was opened at Roy Dore Reserve in 2023. The project, which also included upgrades to the sporting facilities, cost Kingston Council $8 million and the state government $3.5 million.
