A COMMUNITY panel is being formed to provide consultation and advice to Kingston Council.
Kingston Council’s “Kingston Represent Community Panel” will feature 330 residents, who will provide feedback on council’s projects, services and strategic decisions.
Kingston mayor Cr Georgina Oxley is encouraging residents to apply for the role. “Our community brings a wealth of experience, perspectives and local knowledge, and we are proud to involve residents in the decisions that help shape our city. Kingston Represent gives everyday people a genuine opportunity to have their say on important issues and contribute to the future direction of our community,” she said.
“You don’t need any special qualifications or previous experience. We’re simply looking for people who care about Kingston and are willing to share their views, listen to others and be part of the conversation.
“We know we achieve better outcomes when we work alongside our community. By bringing together people from different backgrounds, ages and experiences, we can build a stronger understanding of what matters most to Kingston residents. I encourage anyone who lives, works, studies, volunteers or runs a business in Kingston to register their interest and be part of helping shape Kingston’s future.”
Appointments to the panel last for two years, with participants randomly selected from the group of applicants. For more information or to apply visit yourkingstonyoursay.com.au/kingston-represent by 26 July.
