Kingston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man following a credit card theft and deception in Chelsea Heights last Thursday (2 May).

It is believed a man broke into a vehicle on Talab Court about 2.30am, stealing a credit card, laptop, wallet and a large quantity of cash.

The card was used over the next few hours to make purchases at several service stations across Patterson Lakes and Springvale, as well as at a fast food restaurant on Westall Road, Springvale.

Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance and aged about 25-35 years old with distinctive tattoos on both hands.

The man was wearing a grey/green hooded jacket, dark pants, a blue T-shirt with a logo on the front and sunglasses on top of his head.

Anyone with information or who recognises the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
