LITTLE Athletics in Chelsea has received a $1300 grant to buy new hurdles.

The grant came through Coles’ sports equipment grants.

Chelsea Little Athletics Centre Co-President Paulo Lay said “Chelsea is looking forward to providing another season of ‘family, fun and fitness’ hot on the heels of the Tokyo Olympics.”

“Last season our athletes achieved remarkable success, amassing more than 1,500 personal bests and setting 10 new centre records despite the on-going challenges from COVID-19,” he said. “Being able to replace our ageing equipment like high jump bars, shot puts and measuring sticks through a grant like this will assist in keeping our membership fees low and help our centre to develop and grow our athletes. The new equipment will also help our volunteers move through the program quickly and efficiently as they will be able to pack up and down more efficiently.”
