Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary in Frankston on 9 October.

Investigators have been told the male occupant of a property on Wettenhall Road returned home about 11.30am to find his house being burgled.

The victim confronted the male offender who then ran to a vehicle and attempted to leave the scene.

The offender sped around the victim’s car, where his 9-year-old daughter was waiting inside, hitting the victim with the car and pushing him into his garden.

The offender also hit a retaining wall before speeding away.

The victim luckily only suffered minor injuries and his daughter was unharmed.

The vehicle is described as being a white Toyota Landcruiser 200 series bearing number plate BHF010.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 175cm tall with a solid build and short hair.

Investigators have released an image and CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
