A COMMUNITY golf day organised by the Frankston Rotary Club has raised more than $20,000.

The money has been donated to Community Support Frankston.

The annual Rotary-Wrangler’s Charity Golf Day took place in October. 178 golfers took part – the team of Joe Russo, Dallas Brooks, Ben Croker, and Michael Nugent were the winning men’s side, Jo Miles, John Miles, Jan Sharwood, and David Sharwood won the mixed title, and Sara French, Serena Palmer, June Luxmoore, and Penny Theobold won in the women’s division.

Rotary Club of Frankston president David Cross said, “the Frankston Rotary Club is delighted to be able to present a $20,000 donation to Community Support Frankston, to help those experiencing hardship and homelessness in our local community, especially in the lead up to Christmas.”

“Successful events like this one would not be possible without the efforts and support of our Rotarians, their families and our event sponsors. I extend our deepest thanks to the City of Frankston, ClubLinks, Centenary Park Golf Club and the Frankston Wranglers, along with all our sponsors, for their generosity,” he said.

The  2024 charity golf day is expected to be held at the Centenary Park Golf Course on Sunday, 27 October.
