POLICE have allegedly seized $40,000 worth of methylamphetamine from a Moorabbin business.
Police raided a property on Alex Avenue at about 8am on Monday 28 July. They say they seized 150gms of methylamphetamine, and cash.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged with trafficking methylamphetamine, possessing proceeds of crime, and possessing methylamphetamine, ecstasy, MDMA and cannabis. He was bailed to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on 21 October.
Victoria Police Caulfield divisional response unit acting detective sergeant Stuart Burnham said “anytime we can remove drugs from the hands of traffickers, we are making our streets safer for residents and visitors. Illicit drugs fuel other criminality, including violent assaults, robberies and shoplifting, just to name a few.”
“We also know too well the effect drugs have on drivers, who put their lives and countless others in danger on our roads,” he said. “We will continue to target anyone who tries to make a profit off vulnerable members of the community with a drug addiction.”
