WHEN Sonja and Ian Duric opened Stories by the Sea in Mount Eliza last year, inclusion was in the blueprint. The independent bookshop has been recognised with the Stan Spencer Award from the Rotary Club of Mount Eliza, which honours significant contributions to education and community life on the peninsula. A teenage boy is facing serious charges after allegedly stealing a car from a gym, before setting a factory on fire and causing over one million dollars in damage in Melbourne’s southeast. SIX Frankston parks are vying for a share of Victorian Government funding, with community votes set to determine which projects get the green light. The parks are shortlisted in Round 2 of the state government’s $30m Pick My Park program, which supports new and upgraded parks across Victoria. UPGRADE works at Banyan Reserve in Carrum Downs are underway. The $2.03 million project is being paid for by Frankston Council and the Victorian Government.
