Police intercepted a vehicle in Frankston on Saturday evening with the 51-year-old Frankston man behind the wheel allegedly returning a breath test reading of .145 – nearly three times the legal limit. Police also discovered he was driving while disqualified with his 13-year-old child also in the vehicle. The man can expect a summons to court, where it is likely that his licence disqualification will be extended. His vehicle has been impounded for 30 days.

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an armed robbery in Mordialloc last week. It is alleged the man approached the counter of a bakery on Main Street about 7.55am on Friday, 3 July. Police will allege the man attempted to take baked goods off the counter without paying. When a staff member asked the man to pay for the items, it is alleged he produced a suspected imitation firearm. The 23-year-old man then fled on foot. No one was physically injured.
