THE federal government has promised to spend $10 million upgrading the Western Port Highway. With the election called by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, campaigning is now in full swing. THE redevelopment of Frankston Hospital has moved closer to completion after cranes at the site were dismantled last month. The project is on track to be done this year. When complete, the new clinical services tower will host a new inpatient services operating theatre suite, women’s and children’s services, cancer services, and mental health facilities. FRANKSTON Council is considering entering a partnership with a capital city in the United States. Frankston mayor Kris Bolam travelled to Maryland in February to meet with the Annapolis City Council and its mayor Gavin Buckley. The two discussed potential partnerships and exchanged ideas. Annapolis City Council has voted to enter a “friendship city” agreement with Frankston Council, which differs from the “sister city” arrangement Frankston Council maintains with Susono in Japan.
