RPP FM has begun broadcasting from its brand-new Frankston studio. The popular local radio station usually broadcasts from Mornington. It has set up a Frankston studio to provide more coverage on Frankston topics. RPP FM station manager Brendon Telfer says that the new studio is “momentous for us”. “We can now directly involve Frankston in our programming. A FUNDRAISER for a mother with a dangerous lung disease has raised more than $2000. Jennifer Mihailidis is a mother of four children. She has been diagnosed with LAM Disease, an incurable illness which affects the lungs. LAM Disease causes cells to grow in a person’s lungs, lymph nodes, and kidneys. This affects breathing and lung capacity. Some of the symptoms experienced by Mihailidis include shortness of breath, lethargy and chronic fatigue, weight gain, painful coughing, a burning feeling in her chest, lung pain, raspy voice, and fluid retention in her legs. A man has been charged following an alleged assault in Langwarrin last week where a ride-share driver was injured. The 37-year-old Safety Beach man was charged with recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault, wilful trespass and unlicensed driving. The charges relate to an incident where a 59-year-old Frankston man picked up a female passenger from a Safety Beach just before 8.30pm on Thursday, 10 November. A YOUNG brain cancer survivor from Mentone was a winner at the 2022 Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards. Liam Costello was diagnosed with brain cancer at age 2 in 2009. He was later diagnosed with an acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, and haemophilia. After a period of remission, his cancer has recently returned. Costello received some better news last week when he was named the winner of the Carbine Club Marg Angel Junior Sportsperson of the Year award. MORDIALLOC life savers took out the top prize at this month’s Life Saving Victoria beach carnival event. Mordialloc Life Saving Club finished first for the day. They were propelled to the top spot by their performances in the open women’s, under 17 women’s, under 15 women’s, under 15 mixed, under 14 women’s, under 14 mixed, and under 12 boy’s events.
