THE monthly twilight sunset market has returned to Frankston. After a successful trial, the event will run each month from now until April. Police are investigating a series of thefts from liquor shops in Melbourne’s southern and eastern suburbs. Investigators have been told various bottles of alcohol were stolen from liquor shops in Mulgrave, Burwood, Berwick, Lyndhurst, Forest Hill, Cheltenham, Malvern, Malvern East, Chadstone, Parkdale, and Karingal between September 2022 and October 2022. Items stolen appear to be high end spirits, usually whiskeys, with an estimated total value of $18,000. Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries. THE new Parkdale Station precinct will contain original elements of the old station building. The state government will construct a new Parkdale Station when it builds sky rail to replace the level crossings at Warrigal Road and Parkers Road. Concerned community members and Kingston Council have been pushing for the original station building to be preserved in some way. THE state opposition says it will spend $10 million dredging Mordialloc Creek if it wins next month’s election. THE Peninsula Arts Society will hold its annual art exhibition in Frankston this month. The organisation has been running for nearly 70 years. This year’s exhibition will feature more than 200 works. Artists who have their work shown at the exhibition will be eligible to win prizes. The Peninsula Arts Society exhibition will take place at 159 Overport Road, Frankston. It runs from 29 October to 1 November, 10 am to 5pm daily. Entry is free.
