Police are investigating after an officer was struck by a vehicle in Seaford on 18 September. Police were responding to an alarm at a school on Eel Race Road about 3am when the vehicle, that was driving in the school grounds, struck a police officer. The driver then fled the scene. The female officer was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle, described as a white utility with a silver tray, and driver are yet to be located at this stage. Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives have charged a man following a series of historical child sexual offences. It’s alleged the incidents took place at social gatherings between 2008 and 2011 in various locations in Chelsea, Edithvale, Sorrento and Mount Hotham. A TOW truck was impounded from the roads of Carrum Downs last week for being un-roadworthy. Police spotted the truck on Hall Road at around 12.30am on 13 September. They allege the truck had one headlight and had trouble slowing through a roundabout. The truck was pulled over shortly afterwards. Police also say it had bald tyres and was leaking brake fluid. The driver was a 26-year-old man from Clyde. Police say he underwent a preliminary oral fluid test, which returned a positive result. A SMALL earthquake struck close to the coast of Frankston last week. The earthquake struck at 5.41am on 18 September. The tremor had a magnitude of 2.4. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Port Phillip Bay, a short distance out from Seaford Beach. In a statement online, the Victorian SES confirmed that no damage reports had been made. “[There have been] no calls for assistance to VICSES. There is no Tsunami threat,” the statement read.
