A FRANKSTON man who allegedly assaulted a victim with a sledgehammer after trying to steal his tools has been arrested. The incident occurred at around 3am on 26 August, when an Elm Grove resident allegedly spotted a man attempting to steal tools from his ute. The victim confronted the man, but was chased back into the house by the alleged offender and assaulted with a sledgehammer. Police quickly arrived and arrested the 33-year-old man in a neighbour’s yard. He has been taken to hospital under police guard. A PROGRAM run by Peninsula Health has helped more than 100,000 people who tested positive for COVID-19 but did not need to be hospitalised. COVID Positive Pathways started in March 2020 to provide clinical care and support to Frankston and Mornington Peninsula residents. The program started after the first people in the community tested positive for COVID-19 and staff from Peninsula Health’s community care department banded together with volunteers to ensure they were able to receive care at home. Homicide Squad detectives are today announcing a $1M reward for information in relation to the death of Michele Brown, whose body was found behind a gun shop in Frankston in 1992. About 12pm on Sunday, 1 March, 1992, 25-year-old Michele was driven by a friend from her home in Baxter to another friend’s house in Frankston, where she stayed until about 7pm. Detectives from Frankston are appealing for information after thieves broke into a building site and took several excavators for an expensive and dangerous joy ride overnight. Police were alerted to the incident by a witness who reported an excavator being driven down Beach Street about 2am. When the witness confronted the offenders, he had to take evasive action to avoid being hit by the excavator before one offender asked him for cocaine and yelled, “welcome to Frankston.” The offenders have then driven down Stanley Street and dumped the excavator in Queen Street.Enquiries by detectives has revealed a building site on…
A MAN who allegedly performed burnouts as part of a gender reveal ceremony has been arrested. The two alleged gender reveal incidents occurred in Keysborough on 10 July this year, and in Dandenong South on 5 July 2020. The offender would allegedly perform burnouts, with the colour of the tyre smoke revealing the gender of an unborn baby. On 18 August, police arrested a 22-year-old Rowville man they allege was behind the wheel for the events.
