THE planned upgrade of the Frankston Youth Prevention and Recovery Care Centre is another step closer to completion. Designs for the upgrade were released last week. The plans include upgraded main lounge living, kitchen, and outdoor areas. The outdoor space will feature barbecues and a sensory courtyard. The centres provide clinical care to people aged between 16 and 25, with focus on early intervention care. Construction is expected to start late this year and be complete by early 2024. A PHOTOGRAPHER has been named the winner of Frankston Arts Centre’s open exhibition prize. Ceberio Johnson won the award for his self-portrait photograph Ceb and Early. The photo was taken using a remote and tripod. Johnson, who lives with blindness, said the photograph proved challenging because his dog kept trying to knock over the tripod. “I gave him a treat to make him good. He is a very beautiful dog but at one time no one wanted him and he wandered the streets. We feel happy because we are together and together we belong,” he said. Competition judge Suzette Weane…
Frankston Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives have charged a man following a series of sexual acts in Seaford. It is alleged a man exposed himself in two incidents in Keast Park on the Nepean Highway on Tuesday, 28 June. A 34-year-old Langwarrin man was arrested this morning and has been charged with sexual activity directed at another person, sexual exposure, indecent behaviour in a public place and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail. Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the burglary of a Frankston home over the weekend, during which priceless home videos were stolen. It is believed the burglary occurred between 7am on 29 July and 5pm on 1 August while the 52-year-old victim was away for the weekend with his partner. The victim told police he returned home on Monday evening to find his home had been ransacked and a number of items had been stolen including four laptops, four cameras and a television. CHANGES to weekly bin collections are expected to be assessed by Kingston Council sometime in the next year. Knox Council caused a stir last week by announcing that it would only pick up rubbish bins fortnightly from mid-next year. It will pick up food and garden waste bins weekly instead. Bayside Council made the same switch last month. Kingston Council has confirmed that it is planning to undertake a review of its weekly bin collections within the next 12 months.
