THE Frankston-Dandenong Road bridge has reopened after a one month closure. The Dandenong bridge closed for four weeks to allow for works to take place. Crews undertook repair works on the bridge, and added in new steel reinforcement plates, safety barriers, a handrail, waterproofing, drainage pipes, signage, and lighting. THE rebooted Frankston business chamber has officially begun its work. The Frankston Business Collective’s board has been appointed and met for the first time last week. Bernd Neubauer has been appointed the chair of the business chamber. A LAW preventing councils from using debt collectors or legal action as a way of collecting rates could be implemented soon. The state government’s local government minister, Shaun Leane, has introduced a bill to parliament which limits the methods councils can use to chase debts. In addition to banning the use of debt collectors, a maximum amount of interest levied on unpaid rates and charges will be set by the minister. Council will also be restricted in its use of the Magistrates Court to collect unpaid rates when they have not been paid for more than two years. Leane said…

A MAN has been hit with a fine for allegedly carrying graffiti equipment at Frankston Station. Last Tuesday 7 June, PSOs patrolling Frankston Station spoke to a 20-year-old man they allege was riding without a ticket and covered in paint stains. Police searched the man’s three backpacks and allegedly found 22 cans of spray paint, 42 aerosol can nibs, five texta nibs, two bottles of ink, blue overalls, a hi-vis jacket, and a hard hat.
