MILLIONS of dollars are set to be splashed on the Seaford Wetlands. The state government has allocated $5 million to the Seaford Wetlands rejuvenation project. The funding will allow for the construction of a self-guided cultural trail, a shared use path around the wetlands, and environmental restoration works. PETER Scullin Reserve will transform into an outdoor cinema next week. From March 10 to March 14, a series of classic movies will be shown at the Mordialloc reserve. They include Jurassic Park, Happy Feet, The Wizard of Oz, and Romeo and Juliet. The Mordi Movies event begins with a showing of Hairspray, presented in partnership with the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. The events will also feature local performers, kids activities, food trucks, a candy bar, and the Kingston Arts bar. A VESPA motorcycle rider was left with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car in Cheltenham last week. The 38-year-old Mentone man on the Vespa was allegedly struck by a blue Toyota sedan near Sydney Street at around 6.50am on 23 February. A ONE man musical about the life of Rick Springfield will be performed at the Shirley Burke Theatre in Parkdale next month. The play, titled Late, Late at Night, was penned by Edithvale playwright Kieran Carroll.
