THE Victorian SES had one of the busiest weeks in its history last week, as wild storms lashed the state. From 29 October to 4 November, the SES responded to nearly 10,000 calls for help. The Frankston SES unit ended up responding to more than 900 requests. Chelsea and Red Hill were also named some of the worst hit areas. Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have released images of two men and a vehicle wanted in relation to a fatal hit-run collision that occurred in Carrum Downs this morning. The driver of a red Holden crashed into a number of road workers on Hall Road near the intersection of Lats Avenue about 7.15am. The man fled on foot and got into a black Hyundai SUV on Rowellyn Avenue a short time after the collision. Sadly a 44-year-old Bayswater man died at the scene. Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a fatal hit-run in Carrum Downs this morning. Investigators have been told a red Holden was travelling on Hall Road when the driver struck a number of people near the intersection of Lats Avenue about 7.15am. One person, who is yet to be formally identified, sustained fatal injuries and a second person was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A HOME invasion in Skye is being investigated by police. At around 4.15am on 30 September, a man allegedly entered a home on Rangeview Drive. The occupant of the house, a 47-year-old man, was asleep at the time. The alleged offender took car keys and stole an orange Ford hatchback. The car was dumped at a car park on Cranbourne-Frankston Road in Langwarrin at around 1.50am on 4 October. RECYCLED materials were used to build a new shared use path on Stotts Lane. The Frankston South path was constructed using Polyrok. Recycled soft plastics are used in the concrete alternative.
