Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following a burglary in Seaford on the weekend. Investigators have been told unknown offenders forced their way into a sporting club located at East Road Seaford, sometime between Thursday 17 and Sunday 20 June 2021. They then forced entry to a locked storage room inside the building and stole a number of boxes that contained brand new jumpers and footballs, valued at over $3,000. POLICE detected nearly 5000 traffic offences over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. More police patrolled roads over the weekend as part of Operation Regal. A statement from Victoria Police read that 4780 traffic offences and 431 criminal offences occurred. Nearly 2000 drivers were caught speeding, and 170 motorists were detected with alcohol in their system. POLICE are searching for the driver of a car which collided with a motorcycle on Humphries Road, Frankston South, about 7pm, Saturday 12 June. The rider suffered serious leg injuries in the incident which occurred between Blake Court and Cummins Lane. The car is likely to have damage to the rear driver’s side. THE Frankston Historical Society has prepared a curriculum package to help local students learn about Frankston’s rich history. Frankston Historical Society president Glenda Viner said the project was a “great initiative”. “It’s important for students to have a deeper understanding of Frankston’s remarkable history,” she said. DURING a pandemic that changed life as we know it, people involved with the local Meals on Wheels program kept on working hard. Some things have changed, with contactless delivery and other COVID safety measures introduced, but staff and volunteers have continued to deliver hot meals to residents. The Meals on Wheels service delivers an average of 5,500 meals per month, which includes 1500 per month to charity Community Support Frankston.
