KINGSTON Council will ask the planning minister to assemble a panel to report on proposed amendments to Hawthorn Football Club’s Dingley Village homebase. The Hawks’ new training centre will feature an MCG sized training oval, as well as aquatic and gym facilities. Carrum Downs police arrested two men after allegedly evading police and a firearm located in Carrum Downs early this morning. Police were on patrol when they attempted to intercept a car on Lyrebird Drive just after midnight. The vehicle failed to pull over and was followed to an address on Allied Drive in Carrum Downs where two men were arrested. During the arrest it is alleged a home-made firearm and a small amount of cannabis was located. A 22-year-old Frankston man was arrested and is currently in custody. TEN multiple-birth families from Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula met at Angus and Rose at The Briars, Mount Martha, Sunday 15 March. The families are members of the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Multiple Birth Association which provides peer support for parents of multiple birth children (twins, triplets or more). Families expecting twins or more babies are encouraged to connect with others as multiple-birth parents are at increased risk of perinatal health issues, such as anxiety and depression. A WOMAN returned a breath test reading of nearly four times the legal limit in Somerville last week. Police pulled over the 26-year-old Carrum Downs resident on Eramosa Road East at around 8.30pm, 24 March. They allege that she was driving at 60kmph in a 40 zone. The woman returned a roadside breath test reading of 0.185. Police say that she told them she had “drunk a bottle of wine throughout the afternoon and thought she would be right to drive”. THE next phase of the Seaford Shared User Path project will be constructed along the railway line between Coolibar Avenue and Eel Race Road. A Frankston Council statement read that the Level Crossing Removal Authority had notified them of their intentions to begin construction between Coolibar Avenue and Eel Race Road. Council wrote to LXRA CEO Kevin Devlin in February to advocate for construction of the path via Riviera Street instead.
