A SERIES of proposed changes to a Carrum Downs skate park are out for community consultation. Local BMX rider Storm Ashby said that the changes mean that “there’s more flow now and we go higher and faster, so this will be way better.” The proposed upgrades to the park are funded through a $200,000 grant from the state government. A MAN has been arrested in Aspendale after allegedly committing a series of armed robberies. The 22-year-old was arrested on Ebbs Street around 3.30am, 5 March. He was hit with 19 charges by police. The alleged offender was charged with aggravated burglary, intentionally causing injury, theft and attempted theft of motor vehicle, aggravated burglary with an imitation firearm, unlawful assault, multiple thefts from motor vehicles, and resisting arrest. JUNE Rea has been named Kingston’s woman of the year for 2020. Ms Rea was nominated for the award because of her work with the community visitors program. THREE men who stole alcohol from a Somerville shop are on the run from police. Investigators were told that the three offenders stole a large quantity of vodka from the bottle-o after they ran without making an attempt to pay, around 2.50pm 6 February.
