A MAN has been disqualified from driving for six months after crashing into an NBN junction box, 15 November. Police say that they received reports of a ute being driven erratically on McClelland Drive at around 7pm, and that the driver later crashed into the NBN box and severed the cable. The event is in its 22nd year, and will feature the switching on of the lights at Frankston’s century-old Norfolk Pine Christmas Tree followed by a display of fireworks. A brave police woman dived into waters off the Frankston pier to rescue an 18-year-old man in trouble this morning. It is believed the man jumped into the bay for a swim when he was unable to handle the choppy conditions and called for help just before 11.30am. Emergency services were called to the pier on the Nepean Highway and found the man gripping onto the pier. Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad have arrested two teenagers this morning as part of their investigation into an explosion in Carrum Downs in August. Warrants were executed at residential properties in Carrum Downs and Seaford from 5.30am on 20 November. A 17-year-old Carrum Downs boy and a 16-year-old Seaford girl have been arrested and will now be interviewed by police. Last month investigators made a public appeal for information about the explosion, which occurred at a reserve on Hillview Drive about 5pm on 28 August.
