KIDS at Nepean School want to give thanks to a group of unknown young people who created and donated a cubby house to them. The cubby house, styled like a van, was created by unemployed youth as part of the Envision Work for the Dole scheme. The team got to work on the project after Envision was approached by Nepean School’s maintenance manager earlier this year. FRANKSTON Council has voted to “discontinue the use of the current herbicide regime” including the herbicide Glyphosate at its latest ordinary council meeting. A MAN who crashed into a tree in Parkdale has allegedly dropped numerous stolen items while fleeing from police. Mordialloc police responded to calls that a car had crashed on the Nepean Highway on 5 October. Police found the allegedly stolen car on nearby Fifth Avenue, and pursued the driver on foot. Police followed a trail of stolen items and arrested the alleged offender 500 metres from the car. The 25-year-old Bentleigh man was charged with multiple counts of theft, drug possession, weapon possession, bail and driving offences. A MAN who allegedly committed an aggravated burglary in Edithvale has been arrested after a 24 hour crime spree. The alleged offender, a 26-year-old man, was arrested on 19 October after a string of crimes that began in Carlton North. The man allegedly stole a mobile phone and car keys from a woman’s Carlton North home at around 7.15pm, 18 October. THE annual Mates Day on the Bay celebrated its twentieth year this year. The event took place at Patterson River, and saw people with disabilities taken out on the water to enjoy a spot of fishing. The day was organised by the Futurefish Foundation. Former AFL player, commentator, and long time fishing enthusiast Rex Hunt was host on the day.
