FRANKSTON’s annual Pets’ Day Out event will take place this weekend. Ballam Park will host the day on Sunday, 13 October. TWO men have been charged over a series of burglaries and thefts in Frankston and on the Mornington Peninsula in the past three weeks. A Rosebud man, 23, and a Port Arlington man, 32, were arrested at a Mornington McDonald’s car park by members of the Somerville Highway Patrol and Mornington police, 11.30pm, Thursday 26 September. The allegedly stolen car they were driving had been seen earlier at Mt Martha and again in the restaurant car park. A SHOW telling the story of Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson will be performed at Cube 37 this month, raising money for the Frankston Hospital. The performance, titled Dead Men Talking, depicts the friendship between the two Australian writers and features their poetry and songs. The play is written and performed by duo Max Cullen and Warren Fahey, who performed at Pearcedale Hall last year as a fundraiser for the CFA. The show will play on Tuesday 29 October at Cube 37. A MAN is being sought by police after an alleged robbery on a bus travelling from Frankston to Carrum Downs. At around 9.30pm on 22 August, a man on the 832 route bus is alleged to have slapped another passenger on the back of the head. The man is then alleged to have grabbed the victim by the collar and demanded their ear pods while threatening to produce a knife. POLICE operation Scoreboard took place over the Grand Final long weekend, running from Thursday until midnight on Sunday. Statewide police removed 243 drinks drivers and 265 drug drivers from the road. They detected 8702 traffic offences and 746 crime offences while their increased presence was out on the roads.
