FIVE people died across Victoria as a result of road trauma over The Queen’s Birthday long weekend (9-11 June). A cyclist, motorcyclist, pedestrian and two drivers were killed with three deaths occurring within two hours of one another on Monday. THE cause of a collision causing the death of a cyclist in Moorooduc, Monday 11 June, was still to be determined late last week. The 61-year-old father of adult children from Frankston South, was hit by a garbage truck on Moorooduc Highway, near Bungower Road, about 10.40am. Police attended and later interviewed the truck driver, 53, of Noble Park, at Frankston Police Station. NORTH-WEST Ward councillor Lillian O’Connor has stepped down as deputy mayor of Frankston Council and has taken leave of absence for several months. A TASMANIAN man, 49, suffered a deep gash to his head during a fight with three men in an alleyway at JD’s Pool Hall in central Frankston. The man said he was “knifed” during the fight after an earlier argument with the trio at the Wells Street pool hall at about 11.30pm on Friday 18 May.
