Moving to Edithvale in 1954 to take up a teaching position at Mordialloc-Chelsea HS until leaving in December 1958 to have children, she began her community involvement as President of Edithvale Kindergarten. A FRANKSTON teenager has been charged with the murder of a man in South Yarra. The 34-year-old man’s body was found on Surrey Road at around 8pm on Saturday, 3 June. The following day police confirmed that a 17-year-old from Frankston had been arrested and charged with one count of murder. The victim was allegedly stabbed to death. A MISSING man was found after an extensive search at Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve last week. Police and SES members were called in to search the nature reserve for a missing man last Wednesday, 31 May. He was reported missing at around 11am the previous day. The man was found alive on 31 May. He was attended to by paramedics at the scene. Franskton, Chelsea, Moorabbin, and Narre Warren SES units contributed to the search. A PASSIONATE group of volunteers has done their bit for the planet by planting more than 1000 Banksias in Seaford in the last year. The group is led by Ross Shepherd. His efforts have earned him the nickname “Banksia Man”. Shepherd was handed a certificate at the May Frankston Council meeting recognising his hard work. He said he was “honoured and surprised” to receive the certificate, and declared the Seaford Banksia Arboretum Project a “community effort”. “The project has contributed to significant community pride. COLOURS and lights are drawing the eye at a new Frankston Arts Centre exhibition. A Persistent Presumption is a new exhibition from creative studio Skunk Control. It is now showing at the Frankston Arts Centre’s Glass Cube Gallery as part of the South Side Festival.
