THE people of Frankston are the focus of a photographic exhibition at the Frankston Arts Centre until October. Photographer Richard Simpkin’s Locals of Frankston features “a collection of remarkable photographs and stories of the people you may pass on the street every day”. Simpkin snapped a range of people, from residents to former mayors, to capture “a true snapshot” of the diversity of Frankston. “It promotes Frankston in a positive way and I hope we can all come together for this wonderful exhibition,” he said. Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 43-year-old man David Warren. David was last seen at his Tyas Place address in Carrum Downs about 9.40am on Sunday. A teenage boy has been left explaining to his mum how a midnight munchies craving will result in the loss of her car for a month. Somerville Highway Patrol members randomly pulled over a Ford Territory on Pindara Boulevard in Langwarrin shortly before 12.45am. Police are investigating the theft of a purse from a car in Mt Eliza in June. Investigators have been told an offender gained entry into a vehicle between 22 and 23 June and stole a purse containing cash, a department store gift card and a credit card. The offender attempted to use the credit card on 23 June at 7.33am at a convenience store in Black Rock. AN ALTERNATIVE weed killer will be trialled around Kingston playgrounds for the next 12 months.
