WORK has begun on the rejuvenation of Young St as the first stage of the $63 million Frankston Station Precinct Upgrade. The Young St works will deliver a new bus interchange with better seating and shelters, and three waiting bays will be built along Dandenong Rd West to give buses a place to park before they start service. The Monterey Reserve side earned a 3-3 draw against Morwell Pegasus in dramatic circumstances ending this catch-up fixture with nine men. Long Island Tennis Club will host a Wimbledon Garden Party where you can share a tea party with your family and friends. Go dressed in your old fashioned tennis outfits featuring purple and green. Social tennis, prizes and giveaways, a cake stall, Wimbledon footage and tennis highlights will be on show. TWO nearby houses in Patterson Lakes were burgled on the same night at the same time but nothing appears to have been stolen. The gated community houses in Pier One Drive had rear sliding doors forced, overnight, Saturday 26 June, and their front doors propped open with bricks to keep them ajar, possibly as escape routes. In both cases, sleeping occupants upstairs did not hear the burglars, who opened cupboards and draws, and displaced items in rear patios, but who appear to have left before stealing anything.
