A MAN says he “swerved to miss a kangaroo” on Nepean Hwy, Seaford, 4am, Saturday 25 June – and he had not been drinking! His Kia Sorrento’s brakes locked in the 70kph zone, causing the man to crash into a parked Toyota Rav 4 and roll his own. A FRANKSTON North resident hearing noises outside about midnight saw three or four youths standing at the backdoor of a neighbour’s house in Lacenet Av, Sunday 19 June. The man called police who found the flywire cut out of a door and lying on the ground. The Dog Squad arrived and chased the youths over back fences of surrounding properties. Three youths aged 14, 16 and 13 were found hiding in a house and taken back to Frankston police station. Frankston Embona detectives are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery in Frankston last week. Police have been told a man entered a service station on Nepean Highway armed with a knife about 5pm on Wednesday 22 June. The man approached the attendant where he produced a knife and made demands for cash and cigarettes. The staff member was able to flee to a back room and lock the door.
