THE South Side Festival will return to Frankston this year after its 2022 debut. The second edition of the festival will run from 5-14 May. The festival program was launched at an event this month and features light shows alongside other sensory experiences. Three immersive exhibitions will be installed at the festival’s “LuminoCity”. THE new athletics track at Ballam Park has been officially opened. Ballam Park is the home of the Frankston Little Athletics Centre. The track surface redevelopment cost a little more than $1.2 million. It was funded by Frankston Council and the state government. The new track is now compliant with current World Athletics standards. Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives have charged a man with alleged sex offences. It is alleged the offences against three victims took place between January and March this year in Waterways and online. The 34-year-old Baxter man was arrested on Thursday, 16 March. Police searched his vehicle and two properties and seized various electronic devices. He’s been charged with ten offences including sexual penetration of a child under 16, sexual assault of a child under 16 and grooming. A MORDIALLOC author will launch her debut picture book next month. The Garden at the End of the World, written by Cassy Polimeni, will release on 4 April. The book is an adventure which ends at the Global Seed Vault in Svalbard, Norway. Cassy Polimeni is a former travel writer who was inspired to write the story during Victoria’s COVID-19 lockdowns. CASH was stolen from three take away restaurants in Aspendale last week. The restaurants at Aspendale Gardens Shopping Centre were broken into at around 4am on 18 March. Chelsea SES attended to help with the cleanup. Police are looking into the thefts.
