KINGSTON Council will begin major works this month on a $750,000 to upgrade the Wells Rd Bridge over Patterson River. The project includes strengthening of the substructure underneath the bridge, repainting of corrosion protection, resealing of the road, new line markings, routine repairs and a new set of crash barriers may also be installed if found to be necessary. Frankston Highway Patrol is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Seaford last week. A car and motorcyclist collided on Seaford Road near the southbound Frankston Freeway on-ramp on Wednesday 24 February just after 9.30am. The male rider, a 39-year-old Seaford man, died at the scene. Police are appealing for the driver of a silver or brownish Ford sedan to come forward. It is believed the driver stopped beside the motorcycle at the Seaford Road and Hartnett Drive intersection shortly after the crash. Police are concerned for the welfare of missing Carrum Downs woman Tania Scarlett as she has not made contact with her family for over a week. Tania was last seen leaving a relative’s home in Carrum Downs on Wednesday 17 February about 4pm. It is not known how Tania left the home whether it was on foot or with someone but her car, a 2001 BMW silver coupe with registration 1FQ 9KX , is missing.
