Solidarity was the theme at Frankston’s IDAHOT Day flag raising ceremony at the Civic Centre flagpoles, Davey St, on Friday. The word stands for International Day Against Homophopia and Transphobia. Frankston Council hosted the ceremony and morning tea to support the international day on Sunday 17 May. The council raised the rainbow flag for the entire weekend in “solidarity with an inclusive community where all are welcome”. FRANKSTON police last week arrested and charged a Parkdale woman with possessing and making $50 notes at her home. Detective Sergeant Jason Hocking said police seized instruments and materials used to make the fake notes over a six-month period. He believes they were passed in the Frankston area. The woman, 21, has been bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court in June. “Traders should be vigilant when receiving $50 notes and forward any suspicious notes to police,” Det. A WOMAN was hit on the head with a piece of wood and then robbed by a man as she was leaving Bayside shopping centre on Friday 8 May. Senior Constable Ken Howard, of the Armed Robbery Task Force, said the woman, 62, was walking on Ross Smith Av when the man hit her from behind and knocked her to the ground at 6.20pm. Police are searching for a heartless driver who left a three-legged dog dying on the road during a hit and run collision in Frankston. Investigators have been told a 45-year-old man was walking his 11-year-old Jack Russell Chopper along Beach Street towards Cranbourne Road around 6.45pm on 10 May. As he crossed past an alley, a speeding car entered the alley from Beach Street, narrowly missing the man but hitting the dog in front of his horrified owner. Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 15-year-old Bethany Alsop. Bethany was last seen in Frankston on 10 April. Police are concerned for the 15-year-old’s welfare as they have been unable to make contact with her. Bethany is described as being Caucasian in appearance, 150cm tall with hazel eyes and dark-coloured hair. Investigators have released a photo of Bethany in the hope someone may have information about her whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact Triple 000.
