Detectives from the Illicit Firearms Squad seized drugs and almost $60,000 cash during a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) search in Carrum Downs yesterday. A 34-year-old Carrum Downs man, who is subject to an active FPO, was intercepted by police and a search of his vehicle and home was conducted. During the compliance search police located a quantity of cocaine and steroids, as well as a significant quantity of cash. The man was charged with drug and possess proceeds of crime offences. A FACTORY caught fire in Carrum Downs in the early hours of 30 January. The fire caught hold on Frankston Gardens Drive in Carrum Downs. A “stay informed warning” was issued for the fire just after 1am. Fire crews attended and brought the blaze under control. The VicEmergency warning read there was “no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.” The 2023 Fire Danger Period in Frankston began at 1am on Monday, 30 January. IMAGES of people police wish to speak to about a burglary in Moorabbin have been released. The burglary occurred at around 10pm on 26 December. The offenders broke into a business via the rear door, spent 10 minutes rummaging through storage items, then left. CCTV images of two people (pictured) police want to speak to have been released. CROSSING supervisors have been subject to verbal abuse while working on Kingston roads. Kingston Council has launched a new road safety campaign. The “Save Lives, Not Time” campaign is encouraging drivers to slow down and show more respect on the roads.
