THE state government has moved the construction of rail bridges on the Frankston line between Mordialloc and Aspendale forward by three years. The level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale will be replaced with sky rail by 2026, the state government confirmed last week. They were originally scheduled to be removed by 2029, along with all other remaining Frankston line level crossings. The level crossing at Bear Street in Mordialloc will also be removed by 2026, with a redeveloped Mordialloc Station expected to open that year as well. A GROUP of dancers who perform at aged care homes across Frankston is on the lookout for new recruits. The Ruby Red Dancers perform for residents at aged care homes in Frankston, Edithvale, and on the Mornington Peninsula. The six dancers range from age 62 to 88. Ruby Red dancer Christina Howell has been performing since 2001. The group is now looking for more dancers to join so they can keep entertaining people for years to come. WORK is underway to complete the redevelopments of Jubilee Park Stadium and St Kilda Football Club’s former training ground in Seaford. Both major projects were left in limbo after the collapse of construction company Lloyd Group. The builder had been contracted to complete the projects, but entered voluntary administration earlier this year. Frankston Council has now confirmed that works have resumed on the Healthy Futures Hub project, which will occupy St Kilda FC’s former homebase. SWIMMERS and boaties face an increased risk of drowning this weekend. Life Saving Victoria has issued a warning to people heading out in the state’s waterways this King’s Birthday weekend. It says that Victorians are 68 per cent more likely to drown on a public holiday compared to other days of the year.
