DRIVERS who sustained damage to their cars while driving on Frankston Freeway last week could be eligible for compensation. A huge pothole which damaged dozens of cars on Frankston Freeway has been repaired. The pothole wreaked havoc on traffic on the evening of 3 October. More than a dozen cars had to be towed away for repairs before the situation was rectified. KINGSWOOD Golf Gourse owners AustralianSuper has confirmed it still plans to sell the site despite the planning minister’s recent rezoning approval. Planning minister Sonya Kilkenny confirmed that the site would be rezoned for development last month, although didn’t approve AustralianSuper’s submitted plans. The plan was sent to her 18 months ago. AustralianSuper announced it intended to sell the site weeks before Kilkenny’s announcement. FRANKSTON Council CEO Phil Cantillon has had his tenure extended until 2026. Cantillon (pictured above) has been appointed for a further three years in the CEO role – his previous contract concluded on 15 September. He began in the role permanently in September 2019 after a short stint as acting CEO. Frankston Council’s most recent annual report, 2021/2022, revealed that its highest paid member of key management received remuneration between $380,000 and $389,999. THE Love Flower sculpture is set to move from its Peninsula Link home by the end of the year. Love Flower, by John Meade, has been at the Cranbourne Road overpass of Peninsula Link since 2019. It replaced Reflective Lullaby, the infamous chrome gnome. The Peninsula Link overpass sculpture is replaced every four years as part of a partnership between McClelland Gallery and Southern Way. THE closure of a Frankston general practice has left hundreds of methadone users in limbo. Frankston Healthcare Medical Centre, a private general practitioner, was scheduled to close last month. It offered pharmacotherapy treatment to patients living with drug addiction. Methadone is a common pharmacotherapy prescription.
